el-Sisi consistently winning by a large margin. Furthermore,
he has expanded the role of the military in the country's economy and politics, showing a disregard for civilian governance. His authoritarian actions have resulted in a lack of basic freedoms and human rights for the Egyptian people.
Since 2000
His rule is considered authoritarian, and human rights groups accuse him of political repression. He won three elections, but none of these have been considered free or fair by international observers.
